Iran accuses West of hypocrisy

“I’ll tell you, they are not concerned with nuclear programs … They are themselves engaged in nuclear activities and they are expanding day by day. They test new brands of weapons of mass destruction every day,” Ahmadinejad told a news conference after meeting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

I’ve been saying this same thing for quite some time now. The US is in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty because it’s developing new “bunker buster” nukes, and it’s in violation of the ABM Treaty because it’s trying to restart Ray-Gun’s Star Wars program. We’re as guilty as Iran is, but we’re pointing a finger at them? That’s the essence of hypocrisy.

Dude, we don’t threaten other countries with our nukes. It takes many chains of command to fire a nuke, not just one whacko.

Editor: Really? Then what was all that stuff during the Cold War about mutually assured destruction about? Wasn’t that threatening the Soviets with our nuclear weapons?

And we are not extremist Islamic idiots who think everyone else is an “infidel” and shouldn’t have a right to live.

Editor: What about Ann “Invade them and convert them to Christianity” Coulter? Oh, right. She’s not Islamic. I think you do not understand what it’s like to live in Iran. Christian tourists go there often. There’s also a movement towards more religious freedom in Iran that, frankly, has been harmed by the aggression of the United States.

The good and enlightened Muslims have moved to countries where they can worship in peace.

Editor: So you’re saying there are no good Muslims left in the Middle East? You think that Muslims everywhere can worship in peace? You very naive, and, frankly, a little racist.

I stand by my argument that we need to unilaterally disarm, and assist other nations in securing their nuclear stockpiles and employing their nuclear weapons engineers in peaceful industries. This would do far more to maintain global stability and ease world tensions than even killing bin Laden.
